The Women’s Development Cell (WDC) of KR’s Sree Narayana College, Valanchery, organized an Awareness Program on the Domestic Violence (DV) Act and Protection System with the objective of sensitizing students about legal rights and protection measures against domestic violence.
The program was inaugurated by Ms. Sruthi M., Women Protection Officer, who highlighted the significance of awareness and community responsibility in addressing issues related to domestic violence.
The technical session was handled by Adv. Sunitha, Panel Lawyer, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), who provided detailed insights into the provisions of the DV Act, the role of protection officers, and the legal mechanisms available for victims. The session also focused on practical aspects such as reporting procedures and the support systems in place to ensure safety and justice.
The program served as an eye-opener for students, encouraging them to be informed, responsible, and proactive in promoting gender justice and protection of rights.
