The Department of Geology – TACONIC Conducted a one-day program TANZANITE 2K25 on January 13th, 2025, 9.30 AM to 3 PM. The program was attended by 45 students from different higher secondary schools near the college.
During this program, three main events were held. First, the “Orientation Class: Revealing Earth’s Mysteries” invited participants to join an expert-led session, diving into the fascinating world of geology and uncovering the secrets of our planet. Next, the “GeoGenius Task” brought an engaging and competitive quiz contest, challenging students to test their geology knowledge in an entertaining way. Lastly, the “Geology Exhibition” offered an immersive experience with interactive displays, allowing attendees to explore and discover the Earth’s natural wonders.
During this event, Dr Brijesh V K, HOD, Department of PG studies and Reasearch in Geology,MES Ponnani College leading the orientation class.The program was attended by 45 students from Higher secondary and 28 student from the Department of Geology.The session provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the Scope and trends in Geology.He discussed various branches of geology and its impoatance.
The next session, the GeoGenius Task, was led by Mr. Sooraj C. from the Department of Computer Science at KR’s Sree Narayana College. Forty students from various higher secondary schools participated in this session. The questions were focused on earth sciences, keeping the students engaged and active throughout. The participants were thrilled and enthusiastic, making the session both exciting and educational.
