The Calicut University Kickboxing Championship for the 2024-25 season was held on 27th January 2025 at MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad. The event, open to both men and women, aimed to showcase the talents and skills of university-level athletes from various colleges affiliated with Calicut University. The primary objective of the championship was to promote kickboxing as a competitive sport within the university and encourage wider participation among students.
The participants arrived at the venue early in the morning, with the team from KR’s Sree Narayana College reaching the college by 8:00 AM. The event was well-organized and commenced without any delay, ensuring a smooth start to the championship. Kishore, a first-year B.Com CA student from KR’s Sree Narayana College, competed against St. Thomas College, Thrissur, in the under 50 kg weight category.
The championship began with the registration and weighing session, which was a critical part of the competition. Unfortunately, Kishore’s participation was cut short during this session, as he could not pass the weighing criteria. This resulted in an early exit from the competition before the actual matches could commence.
