The Department of Geology, TACONIC conduct a one-day program on “A talk on Geology; Career Pathways” on 10th October,2024. During this occasion, Dr. Subin Prakash R,Asst.Professor, Department of Geology, Farook College, Autonomous served as the guest faculty. This program was attended by 28 students from the Department of Geology . Mohammed Fahim, Student, fifth semester Geology introduced Dr. Subin, who led the session impressively. The students gained valuable insights into the various fields within geology and the opportunities for higher studies both in India and abroad.
The session helped the students gain a comprehensive understanding of the diverse career paths available in geology.They learned about higher education opportunities,the importance of field work,the latest technological advancements, and the realworld applications of geological principles.They also grasped the significance of networking,skill development,and interdisciplinary collaboration in their future careers.
The students engaged actively during the concluding part of the session, asking numerous questions related to their career paths. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Nahla, a fifth-semester geology student.
