TACTONIC, the Geology Association Club of our college, is a dynamic platform for students passionate about Earth sciences, natural phenomena, and the study of our planet’s physical structure. Named in reference to “tectonic” movements that shape the Earth, the club symbolizes energy, transformation, and a deeper understanding of geological processes.
The club aims to foster curiosity and awareness about geology through engaging activities such as field visits, rock and mineral exhibitions, seminars, guest lectures by geologists, model-making, and quiz competitions. It encourages students to explore topics like plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, fossils, and environmental conservation.
TACTONIC also promotes practical learning and research, helping students gain insights into the real-world applications of geology in areas like disaster management, mining, water resource management, and environmental studies.
By connecting classroom learning with field-based exploration, TACTONIC nurtures scientific thinking and a lifelong appreciation for Earth’s history and dynamics.
