🌿 Community Living Camp – “Sahayi”

✨ About the Programme:
The Community Living Camp “Sahayi” was organised as part of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) curriculum to provide students with hands-on exposure to community life and social realities. The camp aimed to help students understand rural and tribal community structures, collective living, leadership, cooperation, and social responsibility through experiential learning.

The programme emphasized values of mutual support, empathy, self-discipline, teamwork, and community engagement, enabling students to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-life social work practice.

📍 Venue: Kallumukk, Muthanga

🎯 Objectives:

  • To promote experiential and participatory learning
  • To develop leadership, cooperation, and social responsibility
  • To understand community dynamics and local governance
  • To enhance problem-solving skills through group living
  • To foster empathy and commitment towards marginalized communities

🌱 Outcome:
The camp provided students with meaningful learning experiences that strengthened their professional competence, social awareness, and commitment to community service, thereby enriching their overall development as future social work professionals.
