🗨️“Is Language Gendered?”

The Department of English, in association with the Women’s Development Cell (WDC) of KRS Sree Narayana College, Valanchery, organizes a symposium titled “Is Language Gendered?”—an intellectual exploration of language as a powerful site of gender construction.

The symposium invites critical discussions on how language shapes, reflects, and reinforces gender identities, roles, and power structures in society. Through scholarly perspectives and interdisciplinary dialogue, the event aims to foster awareness, inclusivity, and critical thinking among students and faculty.

The session will feature presentations by faculty members of the Department of English, offering insights into gendered discourse, representation, and communication practices in literary and social contexts.

Date: 17 December 2025
Time: 10:00 AM
Venue: AVT Hall

This symposium provides a meaningful platform for academic engagement with contemporary gender issues through the lens of language and literature.
