The Department of English has conducted the “Media Visit” to the Malayala Manorama Media and Press in Kochi. 28 students from second year B. A English participated in the event. Ms.Anjali. P, from Department of English was the coordinator, Mrs. Shahla OP and Mr.Sivadasan, the subject faculty of Journalism also accompanied in the Media Visit. The journey started from the college at 5:30 am on 22/11/2024 and ended at 3:30 am on 23/11/2024 ( One day). Malayala Manorama is one of the leading newspapers in Kerala, with a rich history in journalism and media. It operates across multiple platforms, including television, digital news, and publications. The team witnessed the live streaming of news, understanding the process of real-time news broadcasting. Students observed the news editing and writing process, learning how stories are curated and presented.
The Team got an opportunity to visit the set of Malayala Manorama’s popular show, “Oru Chiri Bumper Chiri,” where they got insights into television show production. Students learned about the different stages of news production, from reporting to live broadcasting and editing. The visit was an informative and eye-opening experience for students, allowing them to witness the real-world functioning of a leading media house.
